Yue Chong's Birthday Cake


So I'd decided to make a cake for him.
I bought a pack of flour (Rm1.50), Almond slice (~Rm 5), Unsweetened cooking 100% coco (Rm8.5), and unsalted butter (Rm 10.5),baking powder (~Rm5) and a bake cake pan (Rm9). This cake costs me about Rm30. Finally I understand why secret recipe cakes are so expensive.

With all the ingredients, I started the experiment at the new year eve and Yue Chong is my white mice.
I have prepared the ingredients for 2 kind of cakes (both serve for 2-3 people)

Chocolate Brownie

Cut 50g butter and 28g chocolate in small pieces in a small bowl. Then put the bowl in hot water to melt them.
Turn off the fire once the chocolate and butter start melting.
After that pour 6 spoons of sugar into the mixture and then beat an egg.
Blend in chocolate mixture, 55ml of flour until just mixed. After that stir in the nuts :)
Pour into prepared pan. Then bake the cake for 15 minutes (luckily it wasn't over baked)


Dada.. Kind of fudgy and moist. The chocolate is too strong and the sugar was not melt thoroughly, hence you would have some surprise for every bite. But overall taste not bad. Just like the one sold at the western restaurant. Best served with ice-cream :P

2nd try: Chocolate Pound Cake

Blend together 60g butter, 60g sugar, 120 ml of flour and 1/2 teaspoon of baking powder.
After that beat an egg into the mixture and the melted unsweetened chocolate 35g
then continue to blend for 10-15 minutes (it is so tiring :))

Pour into the prepared pan, and decorate it with the almond slices. Bake for 20 minutes..
Dada.. That it is..Not so bad on the look hehe.. Hope Yue Chong like it..


Seriously, not fun to make a cake. it is so tedious and a lot of clean work to do.

The taste is not so bad. The cake is too dry, perhaps is due to the amount of chocolate was cut.

At the end, we didn't win any prize. The dream of tender the resignation was officially failed to achieve ..hehe..daydreaminglah
Tha famous Boh Tea Plantation was claimed with heavy traffic jam. So we went to a less famous tea Plantation. The scenery is quite impressive too. But was not as huge as Boh Tea plantation.

Cameron Highland

I enjoyed a very short and sweet holiday in Cameron Highland during Deppavali 3-days holidays. Albeit most of the time we were trapped in the horrible traffic jam. We can do nothing but only slept until we reached the desired destination. I was about to relief that I thought my face condition is getting better, I feel the texture is much smoothier (however, it is so disappointing today, 2 weeks after back from CH :o( )

1st Destination on 1st day - PASAR MALAM @ Brinchang

How I miss the cold weather. Even in the pasar malam (night market) at Brinchang. I won't feel irritating with the sweat at all. This was the very 1st time we went pasar malam with such a big group of friends to bargain like aunties & uncles.

My super duper favorite snack in CH - Strawberries

coated with chocolate FRIED chickens.. It looks so tempting (of course not to me, to someone lor...)
Strawberry bags/tissuebox/cushion/chair/dolls..whatever you name it.
Bought some ingredients for the steamboat dinner, then we quickly heading to the Greenhill Resort. 3 Cs met, tt is Cheap, Clean and comfortable with the Europe design concept. The lady landlord is very friendly. So sorry, we spoiled a pot..hihi..
The water was so cooling. When I washed the vegetables, my hands were nearly frozen. Strangely, the pipe water was yellow in color. However, tt was proven that free from toxic because none of us was having stomach flu on the next day.


Steamboat dinner (with fresh vegetables,corn &mushroom from the Pasar Malam and meatballs in strange chemical taste we brought all the way from JB)
See, everyone was so enjoyed in the self-cooked steamboat dinner.
On the next morning, I woke very early just to have a walk around the resort..
We were not here to sleep ;o)

Spaghetti 茄酱意大利面

Today's lunch


Cooked together with Mum. She prepared all the ingredients as below
Cut all into small pieces
6 Chinese mushrooms,
1 green capsicum,
1 yellow capsicum
Chopped pork for 4 pax marinaded light soy sauce,oyster sauce & sesame oil
2 stalk of spring onions.
garlics
1 tomato
and spoons of traditional spaghetti sauce.

1stly, fried the garlics and onions, few seconds later add the mushrooms in. Then fried until the garlics cooked with bright yellow color. After that tossed the chopped pork and continue to fry until for 10 minutes. Meanwhile waiting for the spaghetti cooked in the boiled water for more than 10 minutes.


After that, add in the green & yellow capsicum, tomato and the sauce. Lastly, the spaghetti after drained.

For the sake of not disappointing me, even though everyone is so busy in this month. And coincidentally, every project/initatives were being tasked has the deadline on the same day with the teambuilding I was organizing. It is so touching to learn that my colleagues were so supportive, and they made promise to meet the deadline by burning midnight oil for days just to want to spend a day for this event.


After briefing by the referee. Equipped with Vest (Rm2 for the rental) and face mask. Everyone is ready to go, carrying the gun with 50 bullets each and safety pin on. We will only off the pin in the battlefield. To win the game, the team has to grab the flag.

早上煮蛋包饭-我的午餐饭盒

我的蛋包饭食谱
受够了无止尽的快餐,开始了带便当也能在鸟不生蛋的振林山生存记。。
从最简单的蛋包饭做起叭。。(虽然简单,外形还是失败的说)


早上,梳洗完毕。马上作战。。
由于很突然的想到第二天要去那个遥远的地方。。什么材料都没准备。。有什么用什么乱乱煮。。
没有肉,鱼圆什么的。。好, 就炒江鱼仔先好了。。


由于太紧张,油是太多了点。。哈哈。。继续。
把江鱼仔沥干油捞上来,然后就开始做茄酱饭

小葱头,蒜剁碎。炒到焦黄,然后放入昨天的剩饭(糙米)然后再炒。

然后倒入米酒(1汤匙),番茄酱大概,然后加入少许盐和胡椒粉。。完全凭感觉和运气。。


呵呵,完成!!
然后是煎蛋时间。。这次和以往不同的是加入了牛奶(代替水)和胡椒粉
有点失败。火候控制不当,差点烧焦。。

然后,蛋皮包饭。。完成了! (外形有点失败,来个特写遮丑)

Omelet for brother's breakfast

I admit I'm not a good cook..
This is the 1st time my bro agreed to let me cook for his breakfast..

Okay this is not the 1st time to make a omelet..
Yet, successful all the time. :o)

2 eggs, 1 tablet of water, little salt.. *dada* pour it on the frying pan with medium fire.
Then add the cheese on the half side of egg then fold the half side over...

下一站--巴厘

将在明年2月重游巴厘,又是一行人12个浩浩荡荡的出发。。一点也不浪漫。。
重温一下上一次的来匆匆,去匆匆3天两夜的11月07之旅的照片。。。

虽短暂但有趣。。

3天里去了Kuta, Uluwatu, Jimbaran, Ubud, Tanah Lot, LakeBeratan。。像赶鸭子般。。
我们12个人同坐一辆mini bus共游

Kuta海边。。其实没有想象中漂亮


在Uluwatu看Kecak dance..看了两个小时。。如果没有当地的解释,我们完全不明白他们在演绎什么。。猴子很多。。可惜的是看不到传说中美丽的夕阳。。


晚上,在Jimbaran 海滩上享用海鲜晚餐。。不错的体验。。
但是那垃圾漂浮的海面,嗯。。破坏了浪漫的感觉
第二天,Ubud,充满浓浓的古色古香。。

沿路上Lake Beratan 可以看到美丽的梯田。。很让人心旷神怡



很像金马伦的天气。。冷冷凉凉的。。是值得一去的地方。。也是我认为最漂亮的景点
一大盒的草莓只卖2零吉。。吃到嫌弃。。呵呵





Tanah Lot 海神庙。。大力推荐。。这是个看夕阳的好地方哟。。
很特别,当涨潮的的时候,我们是没有办法到庙里祈求好运的~


夕阳西下。。。第二天的晚餐。在Made餐馆吃15零吉的nasi campur


按摩时间。。2小时50零吉。

Party Time...夜店春光乍泄
第三天,回家咯。。
kuta 的街道,购物什么的,很好逛~

2月的巴厘。。等我哟~~
